How to Unlock Songtreads in Scrooms

Check the verified Songtreads acquisition requirements in Scrooms and distinguish the item from similarly named movement equipment.

Songtreads are Shax’s movement boots. After reaching level 25 and turning in Tamer in Training to Halden, follow A Leg Up to Shax, win Quick on Your Feet and talk to him again for the reward. Activate the boots from the backpack before attempting a running jump.

This covers the first Songtreads unlock described in October 2026. Later movement upgrades are separate; the exact game build is unspecified.

Finish the race and collect the reward

Shax is the red-haired racer in the Grove, near a campfire and crate by the lift area. Talk to him after Halden’s follow-up. Teleport to Track enters Shax’s Retreat; Start Race begins the course. The original guide records repeat attempts by returning to Shax and starting again.

After winning, return to Shax beneath the start banner and finish the conversation. Look for Unlocked the: Songtreads and the Songwalker unlock. Winning and accepting the reward are separate steps.

Use the backpack’s boot tile

Press G on PC, then select the Songtreads tile labelled Core Item. Confirm glowing boots and notes at your feet. The Equipment Bag’s Core cards marked Owned only show ownership. Taking out another item can remove the boots; reselect them if the glow disappears.

Use the corresponding bag prompt on touch. The controls reference separates backpack input from the other hotbar menus.

Use momentum for the first cavern crossing

For Bluestone Approach, activate the boots, run toward the cave-mouth gap and jump from the ledge. Keep moving until landing. The launch guide’s first boots use a running jump; a later double-jump upgrade should not be assumed from owning them. Q or Shift is not a documented substitute for selecting the boot tile.
