Scrooms Song of Passage: Unlocking Marked Gates

Check how Song of Passage and marked gates work in Scrooms, including how to identify the correct symbol and required instrument.

Sources checked

Song of Passage is learned by completing The Scratched Score in Sorin’s Respite. Its checked objective list includes six different catches, 25 perfect catches, two frequency targets, level 56 and a return to the wall. Play the song on the Ocarina at a sigil-marked gate to open it.

The six visible wall objectives and F–S–A–W–F gate pattern come from an October 2026 PC recording. Check the live checklist for later changes.

Start at the scratched wall

In the garden area, approach the wall with the score markings and begin The Scratched Score. The full checklist appears in the Quest Log; reading the wall only starts the task.

Use the Respite access route if the garden is still locked.

Complete the visible objectives

Scroll the table horizontally if needed.

Catch a Scroom of 480 Hz or higherThe caught frequency must meet the stated threshold.
Catch a Scroom of 860 Hz or higherUse an instrument with enough frequency reach for the target.

Return to the scratched wall and finish the scoreThis completes the wall task and teaches the song.

Play the five-note pattern

Select the Ocarina, open Known Songs and choose Song of Passage. At the gate, play F → S → A → W → F. The recorded gate opens after that input; the Open Sesame badge specifically recognises opening a gate with this song.

Homeward Melody and Bloomcall do different jobs. Check the gate’s sigil and song menu before retrying, and use the Ocarina control reference if the note buttons are unfamiliar.
